Who we are

Brendan Stapleton

Globally Acclaimed International Mime Artist Brendan Stapleton is one of the Worlds leading pioneers and experts in Mime, Robotics and Physical Theatre.

Trained at The Desmond Jones School of Mime. He studied Dance Theatre at "Laban". He has collaborated, inspired and directed leading practitioners in the industry and In the Commercial and Corporate sector. He has worked extensively and has performed in the capacity of actor, clown, acrobat, aerialist, living-statue, juggler, puppeteer fire-eater and dancer.

Films include: Santa Clause the Movie, The Muppets, Xmas Carol and the Wind in the Willows.

Television: He has been seen in 'Dr Terrible's House of Horrible', Gullivers Travels, The Paul Daniels Magic Show, Hale and Pace, Smith and Jones and the Xmas specials of Stanley Baxter and Lenny Henry.

Musical and West End experience includes Peter Pan and the Pantomimes includes "Babes in the Wood,” directed by Roy Hudd at Sadlers Wells. His role as the acrobatic Cat starring alongside Cannon and Ball in Dick Whittington was highly acclaimed.

Brendan was personally invited by Image Animations to co-ordinate Ape movement on the Feature Film "Tarzan and the Lost City" for Village Roadshow after he created the very first Bluescreen commercial in Europe playing all three Ape characters for the TCF Bank Chicago USA.
He collaborated as choreographer for the first interactive video installation in the UK. In the British Reality Channel 4 TV show 'Shattered' for an audience of 5 million; Brendan Stapleton was head hunted by Endomol to tutor Mime in a non speaking role.

In Europe Brendan has taught mime and presentation at Goldsmith's College in London and to Mars UK in Austria and Germany.

Attended : The International Dramaturgy Forum at The Moving Acadamy for Performing Arts(MAPA) in Croatia as Representative for the British Council.

He was a pioneer in the fields of hearing and visual impairment for Link-Up Theatre and Dance Company and The Royal Ballet Educational Unit at the Royal Opera House London.

Melvyn Altwarg

Melvyn Altwarg began to study Mime and Clowning whilst finishing his masters degree. He went onto train in a variety of theatrical, circus and dance skills including Argentinian Tango.

When working in Covent Garden he was acknowledged as one of the best street mimes in the world.

He started to perform as part of the duo Emil and Mike who toured internationally including an entertainment tour of the Falkland Islands with Shane Ritchie. They also became an established act on the UK music hall circuit working with performers such as Ruth Madoc and Barbara Windsor. Melvyn also worked in the award winning comedy duo Men In Coats performing in Spain, Japan, Singapore etc. Throughout this period he worked in theatre, TV and Opera. He also worked extensively in the corporate circuit as a Comedy Waiter, Mime, Magician and Circus Skills Performer.

Besides the performing Melvyn has acted as creative director for various companies. In this role, for example, he organised the outside garden entertainment for Elton John’s Black and White ball and the 140th ceremony for the Café Royal in London. He also has worked in the same role for various trade shows helping to devise presentations and trade show strategies for companies such as HP and McAfee.

Melvyn has been involved in training motivation and presentation utilising mime, magic and circus skills.

Melvyn is also involved with the Fake Paparazzi / spoof Paparazzi group the Pressmen who specialise in reportage photography and entertainment.
